She received her Doctorate in Renewable Materials Engineering in the research area of biopolymeric materials in 2017. Since then, she has been developing her research career as a postdoc in different universities and countries. Her research interests are mainly related to i) the use and optimization of different manufacturing methods and processing conditions, and ii) the improvement of the functional properties of biopolymer-based products by additive incorporation to develop food packaging and biomaterials.

Dr Etxabide Etxeberria presented her work entitled “Renewable and biodegradable biopolymers for food packaging and biomedical applications”, where she summarised various projects, she has undertaken in this area to date.
