At the end of February, Spanish professionals from across South-East Queensland gathered in Brisbane for an informal networking event organised by Jose Lopez the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Brisbane in collaboration with SRAP (Spanish Researchers in Australia Pacific) and Eat Spanish .
The event took place at the Palace Barracks Cinema and brought together professionals working across universities, research institutions and industry. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen the growing network of Spanish professionals living and working in Queensland.
Supporting initiatives that bring together researchers and professionals abroad is a key part of SRAP’s mission to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between Spain and the Australia-Pacific region. Events like this help foster connections between academia and industry, creating opportunities for future partnerships and collaborations.
The evening also offered a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where participants could share their experiences of living and working internationally while expanding their professional networks. Attendees enjoyed Spanish tapas during the event, including delicious croquetas prepared by Chef Pepe from Spanish Catering, adding a taste of Spain to the evening and contributing to the sense of community among participants.
SRAP would like to thank all attendees for their participation and enthusiasm, as well as the event sponsors Elecnor and Gransolar for their support. Their contribution helped make this gathering possible and strengthened connections within the Spanish professional community in South-East Queensland.
We look forward to continuing to support activities that connect Spanish researchers and professionals across Australia-Pacific.
