Online workshop: PhD, now what?

On 22 July 2021, our member Dr. María Natividad Gómez Cerezo, presented an exciting workshop from SRAP-IEAP QLD via Zoom on what career options in Academia exist after the PhD.

The main objective of this workshop was to present a real vision of postdoc life: what goals to pursue and what to expect from it. Dr. Gómez Cerezo has a PhD in Biomaterials and is currently a postdoc at the University of Queensland. She is also one of the recipients of the ‘Juan de la Cierva’ grant, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities to continue her research, in this case, at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

During the workshop, she gave us tips on preparing our CVs. In addition, she presented the different schemes for fellowships and post-doctoral contracts that we can currently find in Australia, Europe, and Spain. Finally, Natividad and the rest of the attendees shared some valuable tips on accreditations and visas.

The video of the workshop is available in our YouTube channel.

We leave you with some pictures of the workshop.
