About
Dormant cancer cells are slow or non-proliferative cells that resist anti-proliferative cancer drugs. It is now well-established that a sub-population of dormant cells within the tumour survives the initial treatment, remains dormant for a longer period of time and then resumes proliferation to establish recurrent tumours. As most cancer patients die from tumour recurrence, rather than from their primary tumour, eradication of dormant cells is a crucial step to achieve a long-term remission or even cure. My research project aims to shed light on these unknowns.
