2nd Conference between Australian and Spanish Universities


Instituto Cervantes in Sydney, in collaboration with Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific (SRAP) and the Conference of Deans of Spanish Universities (CRUE), have organised the second conference between Australian and Spanish universities “Building bridges between the Australian and Spanish universities”. This conference was held at the Instituto Cervantes Sydney premises on the 17th of October at 6 p.m. Sydney time and it was in English.

The video of the Conference is already available in the YouTube channel of the Instituto Cervantes Sídney.

Key speakers such as high representatives from the Loyola University of Andalucía, RMIT Europe, and the University of Canberra will have an active dialogue where they will lay out their internationalisation schemes in their Universities and offer possibilities to work together. The program is available in a PDF file in both Spanish and English languages.

After the success of the first Conference held in May we are looking forward to the enrichment of both Universities from Australia and Spain. This second conference continues seeking to reinforce the bilateral cooperation with regards to international mobility in the field of science between Australia and Spain and will finalise, once again, with mobility partnership agreements.

The Conference will be held in the premises of the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney and also online. We kindly ask to register to attend. We will be livestreaming in our social media. There will be an excelent catering service at the end of the conference for those that can attend at our premises.

About Luis Salvador-Carulla

His field of interest is support decision systems and policy in long-term care, disability and mental health, and Intellectual Developmental Disorders. He is honour member of the World Psychiatry Association and Secretary of the WPA section “Classification, Diagnostic assessment and Nomenclature”. Dr. Salvador-Carulla has intensively participated in the development of international networks in the fields mentioned above, person centred medicine, healthy ageing, and bridging and knowledge transfer between disability and ageing. He has been advisor to the Government of Catalonia (Spain), the Spanish Ministry of Health, the European Commission (EC) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). He coordinated the European Commission project eDESDE-LTC for the development of a European coding system for long term care, and he participates in the ‘REFINEMENT’ project aimed at analysing financing, quality and effectiveness of mental health systems in Europe.
