Research of the new volcano at La Palma by Teresa Uribe

Our SRAP member A/Prof Teresa Ubide (University of Queensland) has participated in a field campaign in La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain) to study the new volcano that erupted in September 2021.

The field campaign in La Palma has involved researchers from the Complutense University of Madrid, Rey Juan Carlos University, the Telesforo Bravo Foundation (Tenerife), and the University of Queensland. It has been funded by the research project of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain 2022:
Vulcanología y geoquímica de alta precisión de las erupciones recientes de La Palma: aportaciones al conocimiento de la arquitectura magmática y la dinámica eruptiva de islas (PID2022-141259NB-I00)“.

Teresa shares with us in this post some of her spectacular photos, while we await the completion of the scientific study.
