Today, 6th April 2023, our SRAP President, Dr Ángel López-Sánchez, has had a virtual meeting with the president of RICE (Red de Investigadores China-España), Dr Daniel del Barrio Álvarez, and the president and vice-president of ACE Japón (Association of Spanish Researchers in Japan), Dr David Pérez de Lara and Prof. Olga Amengual, all part of RAICEX, the network of associations of Spanish researchers working abroad. This meeting showcased the potential for collaboration among Spanish researchers across the Asia-Pacific region.
During the meeting each association summarised their main activities and events, the great things as well as the challenges that we have, and a brainstorming of ideas to promote further collaborations.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to future joint events and activities. In particular, we are looking forward repeating the successful 1st Meeting of Spanish Researchers in Asia-Pacific that we had in Tokio in September 2019. Ideally this meeting should be in China or in Australia.
Indeed, by combining their networks and resources, SRAP, RICE, and ACE are poised to offer a wider array of opportunities for their members, including webinars, workshops, and conferences. These initiatives will not only facilitate knowledge exchange but also spark innovative research projects, harnessing the collective intellect of Spanish researchers worldwide. This collaboration represents an exciting step toward a stronger, more interconnected global community of Spanish researchers.
