ARC Fellowships to A/Prof Teresa Ubide and Dr Sofía Samper


Congratulations to our members A/Prof Teresa Ubide (School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Queensland) and Dr Sofía Samper Carro (School of Culture, History and Language; College of Asia and the Pacific; Australian National University) for being awarded the very prestigious ARC (Australian Research Council) grants of “ARC Future Fellowship 2024” (Teresa) and “ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) Fellowship 2024” (Sofía)!

  • A/Prof Teresa Ubide‘s ARC Future Fellowship will research the inner workings of volcanoes to help target their copper deposits, which are critical for renewable energy.

Dr. Sofía Samper Carro (School of Culture, History and Language; College of Asia and the Pacific; Australian National University).

  • Dr Sofía Samper Carro’s ARC DECRA focuses on the Neanderthal diet as a way to evaluate the potential causes for their extinction. A featured article about her career and ARC DECRA project was published at the ANU website.
