Excursión de SRAP: Sassafras, Glenbrook y el circuito de Magdala Creek en las Blue Mountains

(Post sólo disponible en inglés)

On Saturday the 24th of October 2022, the sunrise looked promising: clear skies, a beautiful balmy sun, and the perfect Sydney weather conditions that we haven’t seen in a while.

Eleven brave SRAP members and university work colleagues started walking around 9.15 am from Springwood train station through lush and green gum trees, spectacular carpets of ferns and many little colourful flowers. The track was full of surprises: small and medium waterfalls, caves, rockpools, and an evergreen landscape.

We heard and saw several frogs. Michaela Filipcikova was our nature photographer and Alex Sen Gupta also kept us entertained with his 360-degree camera!

We walked around 9 kilometres and followed the course of 3 creeks Sassafras, Glenbrook and Magdala Creek.

After 5 hours walking, we reached the picnic area, where Eva and Eladio were waiting for us with supplies to have a great picnic and share science and personal stories.

Thank you all for such a great day.
