About
My research aims to explore the functioning of natural and restored ecosystems combining ecophysiological, biogeochemical and molecular techniques with experimental and modelling approaches. During the last five years I have lead the Soil Program of the Restoration Seedbank Initiative, a major industry-based research project that focus on developing science to drive landscape restoration of biodiverse degraded ecosystems. Currently, I am developing innovative technologies that harness native soil microorganisms to enhance plant establishment and soil function in restoration programs with a particular focus in arid and semi-arid areas.
