Dr Eric Arturo Torres-Mendieta is a qualified Translator, Senior Academic, Researcher and Linguist based in Melbourne, Australia. He has clients all over Australia, Spain and Latin America. He is a D.E.L.E. Diplomate (Diploma Superior de Español como Lengua Extranjera). This is an official qualification of Spanish language competence granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (Ministerio de Educación, Formación Profesional y Deportes).
Eric is a Certified Translator and Interpreter of Spanish and English, accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), a government-owned organisation based in Canberra, Australia.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) from the University of Oxford, England, UK, with research in Medieval and Modern European Languages. In 2000, he obtained his B.A. (First Class Honours) Degree in Spanish Language, European Studies, Linguistics and Cultures from La Trobe University in Australia. He is an Honorary Research Associate (HRA), Philologus Biblicus, Christian Hebraist, Biblical Humanist, Translator/Linguist, and Orientalist at the Pontifical Vatican Library (Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana) and Adjunct Professor at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (Vatican City, Holy See).
