About
I am a Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación researcher at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) who till 2022 was conducting a visiting scientific postdoctoral stay at the University of Auckland. I received my Doctorate in Renewable Materials Engineering in the research area of biopolymeric materials (UPV/EHU, 2014-2017). Since then, I have been building up my research career as a postdoctoral researcher in different research groups and universities. My research interests are mainly related to i) the improvement of functional properties of biopolymeric-based materials, mainly proteins such as gelatin, and ii) the optimization of processing methods and conditions (e.g., solution-casting, 3D printing, electrospinning, among others) to manufacture bioplastics and biomaterials for food and medical applications.
